AV Group NB Inc. is currently recruiting for the following position: E&I Technician – Electrical & Instrumentation Department

Role Overview

This individual will be working closely with the Operations group to support day to day operations. Reporting to the E&I Supervisor, the E&I Technician will be responsible for the following:

  • Routine daily Electrical and Instrument work;
  • Complete shift log of daily activities;
  • Work closely with operations group to support day to day operations;
  • Complete Preventative maintenance checks and WO’s as assigned;
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast paced multi-disciplinary team environment;
  • Recommends improvements to procedure, standards and practices, as part of our continuous improvement;
  • Shift work may be required;
  • Overtime required as needed;
  • Working at heights and confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson status in Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation Technician;
  • Instrumentation skills to be able to troubleshoot and repair mill instrumentation equipment;
  • Knowledge of electrical controls, MCC’s and power distribution equipment;
  • Knowledge of VFD’s, PLC and DCS systems;
  • Adequate knowledge of mill operations;
  • Adequate knowledge of CMS Work order systems, Inventory system;
  • A minimum of two years post-secondary education. Must hold a valid Journeyman license as an Industrial Instrumentation Tech and /or Journeyman Industrial Electrician;

AV Group NB Inc. is currently recruiting for the following position: E&I Supervisor

Role Overview

Reporting to the E&I Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing E&I support services to the operating department by directing and coordinating the activities of E&I tradesmen to ensure: safety, effective equipment repair, reliability and functionality in order to support the achievement of uptime and productivity targets at lowest possible cost in compliance with Corporate principles and guidelines. Respond to technical issues raised by tradespersons to achieve quality, environmental and production levels. Effectively plan and execute short and major shut downs to maximize percent E&I equipment availability to achieve set production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of E&I tradespersons
  • Perform and lead monthly crew safety meetings
  • Promote and provide a safe work place and support the implementation of a health and safety program
  • Support problem solving by providing advice or guidance for ongoing troubleshooting or new installations
  • Ensure all electrical & instrumentation systems are in place to provide a reliable source of electricity to the pulpmill and boilers
  • Responsible to assist in initiatives such as E&I reliability plan, motor maintenance program, valve rebuild program, etc
  • Organizing and planning work tasks

Qualifications

  • Industrial Instrumentation certificate of qualification; or Industrial Electrician certification; or Electrical / Instrumentation Technology Diploma or Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of PLC,DCS control systems
  • Must be familiar with computer and various programs such as excel, word and CMMS systems
